Mo Hometown Happenings Website is born!
The vision is live! Mo Hometown Happenings is officially online, and while this should be a major milestone, all I’m hearing right now is... crickets.
But, hey, let’s not forget—back in the fall of 2020, the Facebook group Hometown Happenings Appleton City and More started the exact same way. Fast forward four years, and now it has over 3,000 members and racks up more than 200 posts a month. The best part? When I’m out and about, I often hear people say, “Oh, we should post that in Hometown Happenings,” or “I saw that in Hometown Happenings,” without even realizing I’m the one who started it!
Now, I won’t lie. I’m not expecting Mo Hometown Happenings to grow at lightning speed like the Facebook group. There, we’ve got a team of volunteers approving posts daily. Here? It’s just me, filling out the business and event listings for now. And, there is a LOT of work still needed behind the scenes. But I know one thing for sure: if we don’t start today, we won’t get to the big, thriving platform I know this can become. Just like the Facebook group, it takes time to build something great.
So, will you join me? Sure, some pages might look a little clunky, but that’s just the beginning. It’s the start of something grand!
